Best ‘Cheap Eats’ in Dubai

Sure, we all live like Kings and Queens for a few days a month when our salaries go into our accounts… but what about the rest of the month? With all of the glitz and glamour of Dubai, it can be hard to know where to start when looking for an amazing, high quality restaurant without the five-star budget. We’ve got you covered! See our round up of the top five budget eats in the city so you can dine with your friends or plan the perfect date-night without breaking the bank!

Ravi Restaurant, Satwa

No list of Dubai cheap eateries would be complete without mentioning the king of Pakistani food – Ravi Restaurant! There’s absolutely nothing fancy about this one, with its plastic chairs and table cloths to match… but if it’s great authentic food you’re after then look no further! If you’re unfamiliar with Pakistani food, ask the staff for recommendations and be sure to tell them what level of spice you prefer as some of the dishes come quite spicy! Established in 1978, Ravi’s is an oldie but goldie!

Al Amoor, Al Barsha (opposite Mall of Emirates)

If hearty Egyptian food without the frills is what you fancy then head to Al Amoor next to Mall of Emirates. You can’t go past the koshary, falafel and ‘honeymoon pie’ – go for the basbousa with kunafa and cream, you won’t be disappointed! With amazing food and reasonable prices, the popularity of Al Amoor continues to grow so be prepared for a short wait for a table – it’s worth it!

Hatim Al Ta’ai, Baniyas

A hugely popular Middle Eastern restaurant in Baniyas, Hatim Al Ta’ai offers a massive choice of main courses (think mixed grills and shawarma plates) but the star of the show is the salad bar which is included with most mains and boasts a large selection of salad as well as a soup of the day – all inclusive! Order a steaming cup of chai or a fresh juice and you have an amazing tasting meal that won’t set you back a fortune!

Bosnian House, Global Village

If you’re looking for authentic food at great prices then Global Village is certainly a great option, boasting a variety of cuisines from all over the globe! If you’re anything like us you’ll love the real Bosnian experience at Bosnian House, where staff wear traditional Bosnian clothes and the menu is short and simple. Go for the Bosnian Kebab washed down with a traditional Bosnian coffee for a caffeine boost that’ll have you refreshed and ready to wander around the stalls and watch the shows well into the evening.

Itsu Sushi, Dubai Marina

Feel like eating Japanese food but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg? Itsu Sushi is the perfect place to get your sushi fix! For just 98 AED, diners can eat unlimited sushi, sashimi and miso soup before enjoying the amazing views of Dubai Marina!
